I'm jealous of you guys that have axes and amps out the wazoo! I own one acoustic that was acquired before marriage and family...'83 Martin HD-28 that I will keep forever. On the electric side, I have a recently acquired '98 MIK Sherri that I'm trying to upgrade with parts from Twang, but the wife complains about everything I buy for it. The Sherri is played through a homemade valve amp made from a kit through ax84.com. I have no pedals or effects, but it sure sounds good to me!

Yes, not enough yet, looks like you need a Sheraton...and no real vintage epi's in there yet...keep going "icbf" keep going...:-)

I only own one Epiphone so far have definite plans for 2 more in the spring Sheraton with 2 mean 90's or similar and a dot with gfs 59's and then longer term Hunt for nice mini's for a Firebird and then "that" vintage thinline Zephyr I have always wanted.

That lot, with my beautiful Levin acoustic, should see me into my dotage, playing on the porch in the new house we are building by Lake Mälaren here in Sweden.

Yes, stomping on the porch with a Bushmills whiskey and a "blues" (a collective noun I just made up for my guitars) of Epiphones and Levins, aaaaagh heaven on earth......:-)

Nah...don't be! If you have what you want/need, that's all that counts. GAS is a disease! LOL!

And, on this site, it's "Catching!" ;>)

Cheers, and Merry Christmas!

Here's the current line-up at my house:

Epiphone '58 Korina Flying V

Epiphone Firebird VII

Epiphone SG Prophecy GX

Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy GX

Epiphone Les Paul Ultra

Epiphone B.B.King Lucille

Danelectro Dead On '67

Gretsch 5120

Fender Deluxe Players Strat (3-color Sunburst/Maple Neck)

Fender MIM Standard Strat (Arctic White/Maple Neck)

Fender '72 Telecaster Thinline Semi-Hollow Body

Fender Telecaster Deluxe Blackout

Squire Fretless Jazz Bass

Line 6 Spider III Amp

Schecter Diamond Series acoustic/electric 12 String

Ovation Legend acoustic from 1974

Yamaha PSR3000 Workstation

Yamaha DD-12 Electronic Drums

Good Epi representation in the group ... lately I find myself GASing away for another Les Paul ... the call of an ebony custom or a Black Beauty is particularly loud. CB is right ... GAS is a disease!

I hear ya Strumbone, sounds like my wife too. Every time I bring up the subject (last time I was gassing for a loop pedal, Boss RC2) she'll bury me with arguments of why I shouldn't spend the money. The only reason I ever got to acquire my Kustom amp was because I bought it before she could argue against it. Boy I got some flak for it, but now everything is ok again and I still got the amp :)

I hate to do it this way though, honestly.

BUT!! I really do like your setup there, Strumbone. Very nice guitar and a home-built amp, that's just too cool!

I've owned more Epiphones than any other guitar. Started off with my G-310 SG, and later upgraded to a G400, which I still have. I also currently have my Les Paul, and my Casino, neither of which will be going anywhere, they're brilliant, and in the past I had the Firebird VII, and a Les Paul Custom. I'd definitely buy another Epiphone, every single one I have owned has been excellent. Not sure what Epi I'd like to get next though. A Telecaster is higher up on my list than another Epi actually. I'd probably be quite content with a Tele in my collection. And a Korg Pitchblack tuner pedal.

Too many guitars is a myth.

Thanks altair. I wired the amp to use a 61NP dual triode output tube instead of the typical EL84, reducing it to about 1 watt, but through the single 12" vintage celestion clone, I can get pretty much whatever tone I want. Using the gain controls, I can overdrive the preamp sections while reducing the overall volume with the master. I can get all the crunch I want without peeling the paint off the walls. Or, I can reduce the gain, and overdrive the output section with the master volume...or any combination in between. As for the Sherri, I have some upgrades (pots, caps, switch, and jack) coming from Twang, but the pickups will need changing out at the same time. Wife knows about the upgrades, but not the pickups, so I've still got some "splaining" to do in the future. [crying]

Funny thing is, the wife, when we were both single teenagers in the 60's, used to come hear the band I was in, so she knows I've been a guitarist for decades. Of course, priorities change with time, heh heh! Anyway, thanks again, I appreciate it.

Y'know.........Yknow..... there is an unwritten rule in the the guitar world that ".......There's never enough guitars" and I have to agree, whats the problem?? If its your hobby Huuuuugggee "WASSSUUUPPPP!!!" However I tend to find its the less than understanding wife's/ partners / Gf's that cause all the problems, I mean it is afterall the Alpha Dawgs hard earned dosh that He's using to buy the gear not her's but any time you make a move towards another guitar it's

" There's not enough space..." / "What do you need another guitar for? you don't play all the others.. "/ "You can only play one guitar at any one time so why all the others?"

But the moment you crack a song that they really like..... well, nuff' said... the adoration make up for it! but its a painful line to tow all in the quest for better equipment....

Like I said before "You can never have enough guitars!!" So if you have the space, strap up the wife / missus/ Gf and go for it... get as many as you want or feel you need, you're only on this planet once, might as well make the most of it Lols!

I have a Epiphone Casino and a MIM Telecaster and that is all I really need. Of course, an SG or a Les Paul Jr. would be nice to have... a semi-hollow with humbuckers certainly would be cool...I love the sound of a Flying V...a Gretsch and/or Rickenbacker would be sweet...never mind.
