How about a picture from a catalog:

I was looking for one of them for years, someone on the forum found one for $1500 (if I remember correctly), but I didn't have the scratch at the time. I did have the full bodied Matsumoku Emperor F, and that was a fantastic jazz box.

Yes, that'll do nicely.

Jerry, if you have all these catalogs on paper can I come and live at your house? I've grabbed loads of your catalog pages from here how about sharing a few more, pretty please.

Well, I pulled the trigger on one and should have it soon. [biggrin] It looks like a gorgeous guitar and if it plays anything like my other "Uncle Matt" guitars (a couple Sheratons and a full size Emperor), she'll be a keeper. I'll post a family photo once she arrives.

Every Uncle Matt guitar I have owned has played wonderfully, from my Westone Thunder I that I had in 82, right up to my 1982 Aria Pro II TA-60 which I have now. In between I`ve had 3 Casino`s, a 1984 Sheraton, a Westone Thunder IIa, A westone Concorde I, a Vox Standard 25, and the list goes on. Great guitars, enjoy!

Thanks Frenchie fine big boy that "Goliath".

I bought this Levin 335 in Gothenburg the guy who sold it to me. His grandfather worked in the factory where it was made.

She is a 1959 model I call her "Misty" :-) she is a fine old lady.

EDIT: She was a jazzer in 60's and has had a couple of floating pickups in her time. I have been hearing good things about Artec pickups (not great but good value for money) so I splashed out $20 140sek £12.50 for one of these

that price includes delivery off ebay. For that price and the fun of just doing it I have to try it through my amp....

I am making a couple of pickguards for the Levin because it came without one. On one of the pickguards I will mount the Artec floater and a tone and volume rig up a jack to the tailpiece. I do not want to route mine, but some do.

This is what a Levin 335 sounds like with a Gibson PAF taken from an old Gibson 175 he has routed and fitted, this one is owned by by a guy called Robin in Sweden I only wish I could play like him (but without the grunting) :-)

Very nice Joe, some pretty fine guitars came out of that Gothenburg factory, and yours looks to be in a very fine condition. Mine has had a good life going around the folk circuit, but she has been well cared for, and has such a wonderful loud, clear and clean tone, which projects like a bell. I love this guitar, it is very much like a 60`s Gibson Dove or Epiphone FT-110 Frontier, but on steroids!
