Well its not new but I got a used Valve Jr Head and Cab for $175 and the tubes have been upgraded to JJ tubes too! I'll post pics tomorrow. The head is stock other than the new tubes. Does anybody know of some good mods to do? Please post links and pics if you can. TWANG are you reading this? LOL!

HNAD !!! sewatt.com has as much info as you could want and then some as far as modding VJs. I love my head'n'cab - unmodded as yet, just using a cheap Danelectro Eq pedal, and multifx unit. The equalizer really opens the amp up, and the amp plays well with fx. I wish you much success on your modding journey .... apparently it's rather habit-forming :-

i actually also just picked up a head and cab for 175 and am looking to do mods. Unfortunately mind didn't come with new tubes. One mod I think i'm going to do is called the JP-1 mod. Its ridiculously easy and is an instant gratification. I'm thinking about going the BitMo route just because I'm new to modding and its a kit with step by step instructions, but I'm trying to dream of bigger and better things. A lot of people say you need to swap out the Transformer in the head. But who knows. that sewatt forum is very intimidating. Theres a little too much information on it for the novice modder IMO, but if you find a good starting point I'd be happy to combine our efforts into one since we're starting at the same point more or less

the j1 mod can be found here.

Fantastic buy - congratulations!

I got a head and cab in great condition in the UK off ebay for £100 all-in and had it modded by a company over here called Mastertone who specialise in it. Love the amp. Add a reverb pedal and it's very versatile. I know someone who has placed a Celestion Blue speaker in his cab and that changed the personality a fair bit too.

Lots of possibilities - have fun! [cool]
