jcf250
It was meant to be joke, hence the LOL at the end of that line. OK, of course, no problem! i would to know, if i change the stock mics for gibson classic 57, if the dimensions of the mics are exactly the same, because i want to keep the original covers; brand new gold seems to be too "flashy" for me on a 22 years old guitar; thank you to answer

MM Guitars
You can bump that list up to 10 people. I put photos of my guitar on photobucket and if I did it correctly you can view on the link provided. My link[quote name=Guest' timestamp='1263431656' post='672933] I thought there were quite a few owners of these Samick built Epiphone Sheratons with the headstock on this site. I was wrong. I just became the proud owner of an "Epiphone by Gibson" Ser#: SL70508136 and my question is "What the heck do I have?" I only noticed one post about the "SL" in the Ser# but didn't see any replies. cycy
Hi from France...! I'm another happy owner of this wonderful Guitar ! I've bought it in 2000. However I don't know the year of its birth... The serial number was missing when I got it... I think it's maybe 1986 or 1988...Check my pictures ! The machine head begin to suffer. I would like to change them. Does anyone know if the hole of the tuners are "standard" ? Ithought abourt replacing them by the Grover 102 G rotomatics. Do you think they will fit ?? Many thanks !! lumesce
Yet another E by G. This one in Australia. Its a tobacco & unfortunately the s/n is missing the 1st digit. Numbers of s/n remaining are 1211473. Bought it in 2006. Pretty good condition. Funny thing on a sticker on the back of body, just under where neck joins body. It says "Sheratoin (yes an 'i') then VSB. Anyone know what the 'VSB' stands for. It's a little gold sticker, like the made in Korea sticker. Cheers from down under, where the temperature was 40 yesterday & 15 today. Strange!

tbakken
My Sheraton Pictures I should be included in the Owners club. Here is the link to my pictures. I recently changed out the pickups to a Tim Shaw built Dirty Fingers bridge P/U with T Tops from 1981. The Neck pickup is a Gibson PAT Number pickup from my 1991 Howard Roberts Fusion 3. I took the gold cover off of it. Serial Number SL70606682

shoechstenbach
I am very excited to see a site that documents owners having Sheratons with Epiphone by Gibson headstocks. I searched and searched to try to find out info and came accross this forum which offer a plethora of info. I just purchased an Alpine WHITE Sheraton in down St. Louis. I noticed that the vast majority of Sheratons sited are Tobacco finished but mine is a beautiful Alpine White. I will post pics later but the guitar is beautiful having very little fret wear, gold plate pickups, bridge and tuners and is a 9/10 condition. The thing that caught my attention the most and reason I paid $625 for this guitar this month is because of the serial number and info I found on Gibsons site: SN: 80304911 Date of Mfg: Jan 30th 1984 Mfg Plant: Gibson, Nashville TN I noticed that many of the posts on this site are for EPI by Gibson made in Korea in the late 80's. Does anyone else have a Sheraton like mine that was made in the Nashville plant? The info on Gibsons site was quite exciting stating that all of the semi hollow going through the Nashville plant are handmade. Part of my purchase price of $625 included a professional setup by J. Gravity Strings off Broadway in Downtown St. Louis. The action and tone on this guitar is simply incredible since the setup. I do believe this is now my most prized guitar next to my Turqoise EPI Casino with custom pin stripes. My other guitars include a Gretsch White Falcon, 63 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins, Gretsch Gold Sparkle Ltd Edition Electromatic, Black EPI Sheraton II, 69 EPI Sheraton with Frequensonator, 57 White Fender Strat Mary Kaye Reissue, EPI Hollow body Swingster, 84 Washburn Montgomery Hollow Body booktop matched, 60's Harmony Strat, 71 Alvarez 12 string, 80's GOYA 12 string Martin Copy, 90's Epiphone SG Alpine White triple HB Les Paul, EPI Black Les Paul Black Beauty triple HB, 91 Takamine Accoustic/Electric EF261S(AN)MIJ Cedar top with Mahogany sides, EPI 335 DOT, 70's Cortez MIJ LP copy

cadmancan
I am the owner of what I believe to be a Sheraton I from the mid 80's. At least that is what I was told. Hopefully folks much more educated on the matter can help me figure it out. The sticker on the back of the headstock is 881100610. Its been in my possession for over 10 years and I bought it used. There is no sticker in the f hole. I'm pretty sure that it isn't a Sheraton II because they don't seem to have the "BY GIBSON". This is an assumption on my part. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am strongly considering selling it since I dont play live like I used to anymore and its been sitting in the closet for the last 3 years. From what I can tell in this thread, this is probably an 88. Thanks in advance. Rob
