phoez
Hey everyone... when they say "limited edition" on the 1966 SG' for example, how limited are they talking about ( more less ) ?
brianh
Unless they advertise a specific number (like the 1965 Casinos) then "limited" means limited to the number they can sell. The truth is if the guitar sells well, they'll just order another run until sales fall off. PS: John Scofield & Frank Zappa. Nice!

wiggy
According to the guy I spoke to at Gibson re this it breaks down as follows: 'Limited Edition' = production run limited to a specific time frame (could be a couple of months or could be a year or more.) No specific limit on numbers produced. 'Limited Run' = production run limited to a specific number of guitars. Therefore you could have a 'Limited Edition' which runs to several thousand examples or a 'Limited Run' which might only run to a few hundred.
