Bad Luck with 1964 Texan

It seems like more often than not, I have bad luck with mail orders. I just got an Inspired by 1964 Texan to add to the collection today. I noticed as soon as I picked it up that there were some things rattling around inside. First, there was a small piece of wood that looked like it splintered off a brace or something and fell out of the sound hole. Even worse, it looks like the small square piece of plastic that has the wiring running through it has detached from the body. It's just dangling in there so that the heavy black wire hits against bottom part of the body every time you move the guitar around. Everything else seems ok as far as I can tell so far and it seems to play and sound very good.

I'm debating about whether I should try to do a repair myself (by trying to glue the harness back to the body somehow) or return it for another one (and risking getting one in even worse shape). What does everyone think is the best option? Thanks.....Nick

I would much prefer to buy one locally instead of mail order but in the area I'm in, there is virtually no chance of finding one. I would need to special order it I guess. Anyway, after talking it over with the vendor, I decided to order a second one at the same discounted price ($395) and then once I receive the new one and verify it's in better shape, I will return the first one for a refund. It took me since early October just to get the one I have so I'm reluctant to let it go before I get another one. Plus, like I said, the second one could potentially be worse. Hope I have better luck though.

PS....I found an Inspired by Lennon Casino in sunburst, brand new, for $865 shipped. Looks like an deal I can't refuse..
