indianjjy
What do you guys think of this head ? I have a series 3 head but it would be nice to have the reverb without using a pedal, please let me know your thoughts in this matter...Thanxx.... TWANG
there isn't any reverb. there are just controls and a tank. the actual reverb, in the one I have here, is total crap. look at the bugera five watt with reverb. go listen to it. the vjhr has some good points.. but you aren't getting any reverb that you'd actually turn on. TWANG[/quote'] Have you tried the Bugera 5 watt and what did you think? I wish my 16 ohm 1x12 cab was 4 ohm, might make a big difference with that amp. TWANG
I have to say it, I tried one at GC and I was surprised.. same small OT.. probably a couple of the same basic flaws of the vj.. but overall.. I was impressed. TWANG
indianjjy
isn't the reverb tube driven ? I thought that is what the extra tube was for...
TWANG
The vj has tube driven reverb and a short two spring tank. It does very little except produce this funky sounding after effect. If you turn it down.. there's just a very little lower mid boost to the notes you play. *not off, but down* when you turn it up.. it just makes more after note noise.. not much tone..just noise. I found it useless.
RSDx
Hey TWANG.......just out of curiosity's sake, which reverb do you think is worse, the VJHR or the VS ??? (I can't remember if you've tried out the Senior or not) Anyone who's tried 'em both feel free to comment - I haven't heard any good about either reverb...LOL
TWANG
I've only heard a clip of the VS.. it was a little better than the VJHR .. but he tried to mod his right away, so that tells us something. And on the clip of it modded.. you couldn't really hear anything but a little rounder note.. I've got the VJHR here, but I'm so damn busy I can't get the schemo finished.. if all goes well tonight and tomorrow, I'll have two full days to lay into the hot rod.. and I've taken some notes on the reverb from others. so.. I may fry it, or it may fry me.
