Do 335 pickguards fit Sheratons....

I want a new pickguard for one of my Sheratons. I would like to order

 

either an allparts

Has anyone fitted either an allparts or guitarparts 335 pickguard on their Sheraton?

 

I would also like to use the Gibson bracket anyone done this, any tips...?

I put one on my Sheri. I don't remember where I purchased it, though. I needed to trim a bit to fit around the PU's but not a difficult task. I prefer the shorter profile of the 335 style. Sorry, no pic available.

I used to have a Sherry, and I put a 335 guard on it. It fit just fine.

I had a couple made at www.terrapingutars.com for my Dot and Sherry. He does excellent work, they fit like a glove. I had a black/cream/black one made for my Sherry. The cream matches the binding really nice.

I just checked the link for the Allparts guard. I'm pretty sure that's the one I had on my Sherry. I don't recall having to do any modification to it.

I put a 335 pickguard on a Matsumoku Riviera, seemed to fit fine:

 

 

I just superglued the Epi bracket to the bottom of the pickguard. That way, you won't have to worry about extra holes on the side.

Depends on what you want for a fit.

One size fits all is the idea.. gaps around or between the pickups.. no offense meant, but see the matsu above.. just above the

bridge pickup. that gap.

 

I build guards to fit tightly.. and they vary, period. mass producers get around this by making them generic fit.

and they charge too much. *S*

 

Even some dots are different than other dots. For some it's no big deal to have the gaps.. but I've found people really like them to fit very well.

Here's my sheri..a dot..

and a dot studio. and some others I made.

But definately there's a difference.. for instance gibson mounting rings vary from epiphone rings in size..

and the rings themselves, being molded sometimes compress a bit to fit the top tight.. and that makes them a bit fatter. just for one example.

 

I find 335 guards are popular on sheris.. some like the stubby, some like the longer versions.
