Leodhas
Hello, my Sheraton II has gold hardware and it is starting to look a wee bit worn. I have always just buffed it with a microfiber cloth when cleaning, however what technique do you good people use to clean your hardware? Is there any trick to bringing back a shine? Thanks for any help, Louie.
lpplayer
Just wiping it off after playing is really the only thing you can do. The gold plating will come off eventually, and especially if you use any waxes or cleaner on them.
bluesman345
I have always dampened a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) and gently wiped off the hardware and the rest of the guitar (poly). It gets your strings sqeakly clean as well. Buff with a soft cloth. It will also disinfect the guitar from the H1N1 virus
Strumbone
Welcome to the forum Louie! =d> Well no, there's really nothing to prevent the oxidation, pitting, corrosion, etc. except for regular wipeoffs with soft cloth. Then again, for just a little scratch, you can replace 'em.
Guest
Replacing a bridge is a bit of a lottery on Sheratons all depends what year it is. I would like a chrome bridge for my 1987 Sherri but not sure where I can find one to fit..
