Replacing Casino Electronics (Advisable?)

I've been reading through a lot of the Casino posts lately and it got me thinking about changing the electronics.

What sort of improvement in tone can I expect? Could I put Gibson P-90's on my Casino?

What type of pots and caps should I put?

I've been mulling over doing a COMPLETE overhaul on my Casino. I love this guitar so much, it's basically MY signature guitar. It's a 2006 Cherry MIC Casino. I've added a gold Bigsby B7, gold GFS roller bridge and gold Grover Imperials. I want to get it refinished in a CHERRY sunburst.

I am the proud owner of a 2005 MIK dark cherry Casino. I've had it totally modified including: Kluson tuning pegs, the large ivory colored ones; tone pros bridge w/ graphite saddles; bigsby ; new tone and volume pots; new input jack; and new pickups handwound by my friend Ryan Gadow ( Gadow Guitars here in Durham NC ) I now have about 1 K in this guitar and I love it like no other ax. I must say, however, that it was pretty damn good before the mods. The new pickups are lower output giving it a wider dynamic range which, IMO, suites the hollow body better than hotter pups. The bigsby, in addition to looking fantastic, provides a more solid bridge plus it balances out the weight perfectly. As far as input jack, tone and vol., etc., the old ones worked just fine but I like to know that it is as good as it can be. I guess I could have purchased an Elite model for the same $$$, but the mods were lots of fun and I have the guitar I want. Best of luck with your mods, there are few things more satisfying than upgrading an ax you love !!!

Hey Anthony, how are ya?

Don't really have any answers for ya on the Casino. I ended up buying a Cherry Dot. I replaced the amber knobs with black and chrome ones. I think the only other thing I'll do is try a GFS Mean 90 in the neck. I'm very happy with it, and the cherry finish is beautiful....
