teslafan
I know there is some difficulty in determining at which factory the Epi Les Pauls were made. The EE factory is I believe the preferred one and I have a serial # here (EE071101242) for an Epi that I need some help with. When did the serial #'s first two digits stop indicating the factory? Is this an EE Epi? Thanks!
matiac
EE denotes a Chinese factory called Quingdao...I dunno about now, but most stuff from China in general wasn't that great, compared to the Korean factories.
Swoop
Nowadays the Chinese Epiphones are at least equal to Korean Epiphones. I currently have 3 QingDao Epiphones, and they're finished to a much higher standard than either of the Korean Epiphones I had. Epiphone is producing very well made and well finished guitars these days, at least in my opinion. For the benefit of the OP, I believe sometime in 2008 was when Epiphone stopped using letters to denote the factory of origin. Nowadays they a serial number comprised solely of numbers.
