rprichoux Posted February 15, 2010 Share Posted February 15, 2010 What is the color code & wiring hookup for the bridge mini humbucker. I found a website that shows the Gibson mini humbucker code is north start = red, north finish = white, south finish = green, south start = black. The white & green are soldered together , the black is ground and the red is hot. This is not right, I hooked it up this way it is screetchy sounding and about 1/4 the volume of the neck humbucker. This is the original mini humbucker that came with the bass but was remove to try a different pickup. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gearhead Posted February 20, 2010 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Swap the wires for one of the coils, like the green & black wires on the S coil, then try it. If your volume is good see if you get a bad hum with both pups, if you don't you're good to go. If you do, then swap your hot and ground leads.
