brianh
Does anyone own, or have tried one of these little 9V amps? Apparently they can drive a 4 x 12? Total crap or worth $25?
m-theory
From what I've heard, it's pretty decent sounding, although probably not overly impressive through the stock speaker-ette. I believe it's pretty much like this: http://runoffgroove.com/ruby.html Or this: http://beavisaudio.com/projects/NoisyCricket/MarkII/NoisyCricketMarkII_RadioShack_Rev2.pdf I do have a veroboard layout for it as well. PM me if you want that.

Now I know how to do it from scratch, which is even better, and more in line with the DIY CBG ethic. Thanks!
m-theory
Real happy to help out, Brian. Good luck with the build, and do let us know how it comes out, ok? I've been meaning to build one of these myself for a long, long time, but everytime I get close, I start to dream up all sorts of variations/additions, and the end result is that I can't decide on what to do with it, so I park it altogether! I've really read nothing but good about these little amps, though, so I'd strongly encourage all to build one. They're quite simpllistic, very cheap, and answer the call for the "bedroom amp" that we all long for from time to time.
