The Best Epiphone?

How can you really pick a 'best'? My Riviera is the best when I'm playing it, but my IBJL Casino bumps it to second place when I pick it up. Then when I put down the Casino and pick up the Riviera, it becomes the best again. And back and forth it goes.

So I can happily and confidently answer that the Riviera is the best. And so is the Casino.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies so far!

the outcome is being very interesting! For instance, the LP and ES335 types seem to be all the rage - while other that I'd be interested in, like the Broadway or the Emperors Regent/Swingster didn't cast any votes until now...

But I must confess I've been really tempted to buy a LP type, but I don't have a clue so far at what model. I'd like something with traditional humbuckers, a simple setup ... and a black pickguard :-k)

I am going to go mad and say the LP Special II. That was my first Epi - also my first humbucker'd guitar. Without it I honestly don't know if I would have had the b*lls to get my Epi LP Standard, Studio and Dot.

Good times - good guitar.

What a dream of a guitar....one of the best looking SG's for me so far.....But i would change the toggle switch knob into an amber colored one...looks better and more correct....IMO

Same with me.My first one was an Epi LP Jr.(with a humbucker) and after that i was into Strats. But i always was after this rich, warm and fat humbucker tone....Took quiet a long time to accept that it wouldn't work with a singlecoiled Strat...

Now i got Sunny:

I've ordered 2 P90 in Melody Maker pickup size for my Epiphone Olympic on Monday afternoon, because I felt at home that the guitar was in need of more bite.

I took it to rehearsal yesterday evening. Meantime, Pete Biltoft from vintagevibeguitars had finished my set of p90 packed them and sent them.

Now I feel stupid, because at rehearse conditions - higher volume, gain, in the band mix, the Olympic sound Awe-so-me! Sparkle, gritty, wide and still very defined. I even felt some twang! So my 64 Coronet is still my fav. But this little not so collectible Olympic changed my life again - and my feelings about "melody maker" pickups.

Damned I love these €piphones!
