Are Epiphone dogear P90s the same size as Gibson P90s?

I want to change the P90 chrome covers on an Epi Casino to black covers.

Are the Casino P90 pickups the same size as Gibson P90s?

The chrome covers are welded, break the weld and you can install the black covers for a lot cheaper than installing authentic gibby p-90's.

I believe the plastic dog-ear Gibson covers have different pole spacing than the Epi P-90's

You can get generic black plastic dogear p90 covers on ebay, I'm pretty sure a generic replacement will fit an Epi p90.

 

Also Mighty Mite p90s are not bad, i just replaced the p90 an epi SG Junior with an MM and it is a bit thicker, but still has the same classic tone. They are also very cheap, like 15 dollars each, and well worth checking out.

I agree you are just better off replacing the pickups. Save your originals. You're likely to change your mind in the future. I've been using GFS P90's. GREAT tone. Very quiet, and the pole spacing is perfect on my Epiphone LP JR. They are very affordable as well. I have tried a few other brands (off ebay) and haven't been nearly as happy with the tone (or the squeel). I had to pot every set of P90's off of ebay. The GFS's have been perfect out of the box.
