adhok
Hey all-- I know there's been a lot of talk about "jimmy page" wiring, and all, But I'm wondering, would the stock pickups in an epiphone g 400 be able to have coil taps? or do they need 4 lead wires? Can only certain humbuckers be tapped? and what about wired for out of phase swithing? Thanks--
gearhead
You would need 4 leads. The stock units most likely have 2 conductor wire, if you're good you can pull the covers, scrape the wax off, separate the wires, solder new leads and wire her up, but you could also ruin a set of pickups very easily. I think I would replace the pups with 4 conductor units then hook it up how I wanted. If you google guitar wiring diagrams you'll find quite a few sites with different diagrams and mods. Even when you screw things up.
