deepblue
Guys im curious... If I took the covers off of my BB Pros, would I see the typical dual coil humbucker like in the picture?
bobv
Probably. You won't see dual creme bobbins - DiMarzio got that look trademarked.

deepblue
Thanks guys... It is tempting to look, but im all thumbs with a soldering iron. If I ever damaged the guitar or any of the electronics id never forgive myself.
Tim Plains
Blue, you should do what I did; buy a cheap guitar and learn on it...if that sort of thing interests you. I bought an Epi Jr. for the sole purpose of tearing it apart and putting it back together again. actually you will see either double black' date=' or zebra bobins[/quote']I wonder if Gibby's ever put one black and one zebra on the same guitar? The real question here is will the black/white combo produce better tone...;)
DoubleSixx
I wonder if Gibby's ever put one black and one zebra on the same guitar? I think they did back in the 50s. I've read it was a gamble if you'd get 2 zebra, only black, or to the shock of many black/zebra or vice versa in the neck and bridge positions respectively. deepblue1963 Tim A's suggestion of getting a cheap copy to practice on is a good idea. If you don't unsolder the pickup completely you'll be working close to that beautifull top. You don't want any accidents. Good luck.
