TheLiveSoundGuy 2 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 I said he should give 'em to me. The odds of that happening are better than the odds of Pete's Gibson staying in one piece at the end of the night.
jefleppard 1 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Alright' date=' who's the guy who voted for 'Go ahead and smash a gorgeous Gibson'? [/quote'] maybe it was bonjovi.
Thermionik 81 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Now pay attention y'all. This is what happens when you smash a nice guitar. Nice Guitar, but doesn't play so well these days..... OK, kindling wood. And someplace there is a music elf with no home.
albertjohn 24 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Probably not' date=' but I can take an educated guess.[/quote'] Not Guilty Your Honour. BTW. I'm picking up my new wood burner this weekend.

jefleppard 1 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 'taint me' date=' I generally advocate putting some back together that SHOULDN'T be![/quote'] though it could be a 'make work' project of the depression-era's 'dig a hole/fill a hole variety. KSD, you should buy that wreck off ebay (ec-10, from that other thread) and play humpty dumpty. we'd all love to see the time-line and results.
Torker 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 When I saw Townsend smash his guitar after 4 hours of playing I understood why he did it. It was all he could do because the energy built up was so all-consuming.
charlie brown 775 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 Grew up, watching Pete Townsend and The Who, smash guitars, amps, and anything else, on stage! Not ever being in a financial position, to be that cavalier, about my guitars/amps, etc. I never understood (and, frankly, still don't) the "need" for that non-sense. Never mind the "message" it sent out...even back then. Of course, nowadays...too much stuff is "throw-away" anyway...so, maybe it doesn't matter? I just know, I would never do that, then or now. ;>b CB
onewilyfool 81 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 Smashing guitars is the height of excess. Don't they know that there are little children in China starving for a Gibson????!!!!!
McDuff 7 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 Guitars have to much sentimental value for me to smash them. Even if it was a guitar thet did not belong to me or one I had just gotten out of a box all I would see was the thousands of hours of enjoyment it could bring some one else. Then again, it is easy for me to value them so highly being a bum.
Murph 536 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 I think it's stupid to waste anything. Give it to a poor kid. Then give him a few lessons.
