RSDx
Anyone with the knowledge care to elaborate ??? I see folks talking about "coil-tapping" their humbuckers, but am under the impression that they're actually talking about coil-splitting. As I understand it, coil splitting switches from dual to single, and back, on dual coil pups..... and tapping refers to something along the lines of utilizing less winds on the coil (does this work on buckers, or is this a single coil deal????) Am sure it's all semantics, just like folks calling the vibrato bridge/bar the "trem" ....... just wonderin' :)

Rewddawg1
Unfotunately when talking about pups and coil split vs. coil tap most people don't know the difference. So they think they are referring to the same thing (coil split) and call coil splitting either or.
