elixxrx66
I know that disconnecting your tone pots on your guitar will make your pickups sound brighter but I was wondering if anyone knows whether it would make your pickups noisier as well? Some guy in the guitar shop told me that the other day and I had never heard that before and I couldn't find anything online that said that either. Does anyone happen to know from personal experience whether this is true or not?

brianh
I have a Strat that was built with no tone control. Sounds fine, no noise at all.
peeper
If you do it right, no increased noise. If you just cut your tone pot out of the circuit, then you may introduce something unwanted.
