modfather
Hi ALL Has anyone had any experience of removing a bridge from one of the chinese made Acoustics? Reason for asking is I have got a Moustache Bridge to go on my J-200 Artist model but not sure how easy the factory fitted bridge will come off Thanks Mark btw it is a great guitar for the price
zombywoof
Just curious - Why remove the moustache bridge? It should not be too big of a deal as the bridge on your offshore guitar was not attached with hide glue (which is alot harder to deal with). Any good repair guy should be able to remove the bridge without trashing the finish. It is also alot easier if you do not care about the bridge. wiggy
Just curious - Why remove the moustache bridge? ... I think you'll find that he's looking to replace the plain bridge which comes on the J200 Artist Series with a the moustache one which comes on the higher spec EJ200. peeper
Umm, are you going to be left with an outline? But use a heating iron and bridge removal knife, and go slow. Pay attention to which way the grain lays, go with not against or you'll gouge the top. On one side of the guitar you'll have to approach from the front and one side the back if that makes sense.
