gmf1a
Bought a 1998 Epiphone Broadway in December - on a lark - and was surprised how much I liked it. Been searching for a better archtop (any make) ever since Saw a used but looking new 2008 Byrdland Elitist last week and now it is mine. WOW did not see that coming Still too early to be objective

WOW did not see that coming Still too early to be objective Hey gmf1a' date=' wow on the Byrdland and a double wow on the speakers in the background! Are those DIY? I'm an audio kind of guy too and I don't recall ever seeing those anywhere! What kind of electronics are you running? I've got a Byrdland and a Broadway too and they are just phenomenal guitars! It took me almost two years to locate the Byrdland in VS and it was all because of a forum member here! gmf1a
The speakers are Green Mountain Audio 2 Diamantes and two 15-inch sub-woofers Best speakers made IMO Link is here http://www.greenmountainaudio.com/ Speakers are pushed by some old McIntosh tube amps C-20 preamp Two bridged MC-225s A solid state amp for the subs My guitar amps are 1979 Fender Vibrolux Reverb California Blonde Acoustic amp Fender 600 Champ reissue I loved the Broadway but it is not really an acoustic guitar The Byrdland does electric and acoustic to my taste

I was thinking they looked a little like the Totem winds for a second there. Just a second though! lol, Green Mountain huh, yes, I have heard of them but never actually listened to them. Sweet system you have there, I'm guessing you're a vinyl guy in the front end as well? Right now I am running a pair of Tyler Acoustics System II's via a Pass Labs X 250.5, Sonic Frontiers Line 2 SE and a Krell SACD Standard. I had a Sonic Frontiers Power II SE for 4 years or so but sold it after witnessing a couple of KT88's go up in smoke. With Regards to the Broadway, well, the Elitist is a whole different animal than the standard Broadway.. It's a poor man's L5!
leicester35
Seeing those photos makes me a little sad. Epiphone used to put those lovely 3 piece necks on some of the guitars in their regular line of guitars' date=' not just Elitists. For example, standard MIK Sheratons. [img']http://epiphonesheraton.com/wp-content/uploads/bwbps/1250031331.jpg[/img] ...but those days have now passed.
Guest
A guitar I bought recently from 1999 my Peerless ZBD 87 Sheraton has the 5 piece neck but 1999 Peerless ZBD has a few signs of of glued joints that could be vulnerable in certain situations... Certainly not as robust and confidence bulding as the 87 Samick Sheraton neck... EDIT: but just posted after a session with the ZBD beside my Sheraton, I love this guitar......unplugged it astounds me.........

brianh
Stereo 18" subs I see. Actually they look bigger than 18's in the photo. Do you have to clean up plaster bits?

Actually don't play the stereo as much since I started messing with the guitars really cool man' date=' GMA sure has a different approach to speakers now and they look nothing like your beauties. I'm 34 years old, as such by the time I began building my music collection the CD was in full swing. So all my software are CD's though I'd love to add a Vinyl front end. As with you my Audio passion has taken a back seat for the last 5-6 years or so but that lust is returning. I am waiting on a pair of new Speakers, again from Tyler Acoustics. They are called D 20's; here is a picture of them: [img']http://pic5.audiogon.com/i/c/f/1258647108.jpg[/img] and a quick link: http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1277485439&/Tyler-Acoustics-new-decade-D20 Here are a couple of pics of my Rig: old room old system New room, still have not treated the walls: I love Home theater as well as Two channel music so I tried to integrate the systems as I can't have two different rooms....yet...lol. Actually they are 15-inch subs but they will shake your world When I got them I was playing the 1812 with the 21 cannon shots from West Point coming up The cat was laying right in front of one sub snoozing I thought well this is a good cat lesson About 15 seconds before the cannons start the cat gets up stretches and walks away
