Elitist back? hmmm

Peter is correct! Epiphone never discontinued the Elitist Casino ...

PURCHASING one, however, is quite a different matter. The posted "expected date" is now sometime in July. What's this been, fellas ... the fifth or sixth pushback on that availability date?

I'm sure that the guy who greenlighted the elitists was fired long ago. Gibson will never do that again. As great as the elitists were, they were equally embarrassing for Gibson, who was never able to answer the question "why should I pay $1000 more for the Gibson when by your own admission the elitists are the very same thing"? 'Everything but the name on the headstock'- they used to advertise. And that was pretty much true.

Of course once Gibson realized that, they buried the elitists so deep that you had to be a detective to know they even existed and even then it was extremely difficult to actually find one.

I bought every elitist I could afford (I've got 9 of them) and still lust after an elitist Sheraton.

Fantastic guitars that we'll never see again, I'm afraid.

Here's 8 of my 9:

No, you're not seeing double. I have two each of the LP Studio, LP Standard, and Dot. The three with hang tags are still in their cases (still with the hang tags). Call them 'insurance'. The other three are my 'players'. The rather plain-looking LP Studio is the best sounding, best playing Les Paul I have ever played (no matter what brand name it was). The blond Dot is just as gorgeous now as the day I got it.
