Markwell
I bought my Cherry finish Epiphone Casino around earlier February this year. At the time I remember using the serial number decoder (http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx) and finding out where my Casino was made, I think it said Korea. The sticker on the headstock (which I soon removed - in hindsight I maybe shouldn't have, but as I'll not be reselling it I thought it would make little difference) may have said China or Korea, I don't remember. Earlier today when I entered my serial number found on the orange oval-shaped label in the left f-hole (0907212246) into the decoder, it said the serial was "unrecognised". I definitely recall this working in the past. I notice there isn't a letter in mine, as with the example serial. Could anybody help? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I am certain that my guitar is a genuine Epiphone, and not a counterfeit. Thanks for any help or information you can give.
Markwell
Thanks a lot. I feel like a bit of an idiot now - I'd usually check around and read through things like that thread, but when the decoder thing didn't work, I panicked and immediately came to you guys in the know. JAKOBIAN
Ah right, that makes sense. Thanks once again. Hi I just got some info about my Casino. The serial number was nowhere to be found on any website. My serial number is R00H 0329. Bobozu responded . I did't know the to what I thought were OHs were actually zeros . Hence it has the R designating Korean Peerless .the R being PEERLESS and the two zeros being the year 2000,I still cant find what the H stands for ,not the 0329. It is confusing.Ill post a pix here as well. Bon chance Jake
RobinTheHood
H = August. Peerless used a letter code instead of a numerical code for some reason. Any other Epiphones of that era would have read as 008.
