map90
Hi Everyone, I found someone selling an Epiphone Thunderbird IV and it looks great, problem is it has a questionable neck made of mahogany instead of maple/rosewood, like most T-birds. Thought I'd post the question hear because there isn't a lot of info online. I suppose it's possible that the original neck broke and was replaced. The headstock to me just doesn't look right because the Machine heads stick out further like this one ... http://hypergrunge.blogspot.com/2007/06/epiphone-thunderbird.html than on any of the most recent models, like this one... http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Bass/Epiphone/Thunderbird-IV.aspx Your help is welcomed! Sjael
I can't offer much, but I'd keep in mind that the photo on the Gibson site is taken at an angle, so the difference with the tuners could all be perspective. I've never heard of a Thunderbird with a mahogany neck, though.
