Eagle
How about trying to get a Chinese manufacture to make a GL at a price that would sell (build couldn't be worse than Synapse out of the box.) Original Steinbergers are some of the best made best playing guitars you will find and the new stuff is just pissing away the heritage. Get carbon necks and GL /XL bodies made in China and fret them stateside . Also remember that your Player base play 6105 /6100 frets not 6150 with the edges cut badly .Gibson now have Plek, fret in 6100SS and PLEK. This would get Steinberger back on the map. For reference I think the TT3 is fine just the wrong product,(I'm sure it will find its way on to some Gibsons.)
dick motorman
It makes me wonder if production of GL's and GM's was stopped so they could work on new versions with the TT3... I guess I can dream can't I?
Eagle
They just wanted to stop paying Zenon for the bridges. Oh and make a cheep guitar with a BIG margin instead. Also note the own brand pickups on the ZT3.
ahhyes
Wern't the transtrems on the GL made of a cheaper material and wore out rather quickly? I recall reading this along my travels?
Eagle
Yes the Type 2TT is made of pot metal by Zenon, find an unmodified type 1 if you can ,excellent.
