Pestolesto
Hello, I have to replace some damaged parts of my bridge. Does anybody know which metal is used to build the R trem? Thanks
headlost
Hi! It seems that it is made out of a zinc-based alloy, of a kind called Zamac which is easily moulded. Not easy or near impossible to weld, even when this is eventually achieved, material surrounding the welding gets too fragile to withstand any needed effort... Better to have replacement parts CNC-milled out of brass, bronze or any other suitable alloy. Sorry but I cannot suggest anything else before knowing what parts are damaged in yout R-trem. Greetings, JPB

headlost
Yes the cheapest build hardware there is. Anyway, S-trems and T-trems are made out of the same Zamac, a few days ago there was a T-trem breaking report as you may be aware... JPB
Eagle
You need to find an unmodified Type 1 TT or an old hardtail as these are milled .
headlost
Yes, those old hardtails are milled, so are the new hardtails (Bondy :-)
