Octave Tuning

Recommended Posts

I just got my SPIRIT bass today.

I bought it on eBay.... (factory second)

I got no tools with it and an instruction book for the "synapse" model...

I need instructions on "SETTING UP" the guitar.

Well I found an allen wrench and have adjusted the heights of my strings...

How do I get my 12th fret (octave) in tune with my open string?

The other strings are close except for the G string - the octave is WAY HIGH.

Is my string too high?

Not a real guitar mechanic, so make it plain and simple please...

THANKS!!!!!

Hi!

What Spirit bass (bridge) did you get?

I've the instructions for the 4-string DB-tuner bridge, but these focus mainly on the dual DB tuner setup. I can send the ¨.doc file to you if you'll provide your e-mail adress.

Regarding the G string intonation in your bass, you must try several positions until finding a compromise between the 24th and the 12th fret harmonics. The lower the action is, the easier the correct intonation will become.

Cheers,
