jsa11 0
Famous players of the Casino include: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Noel Gallagher (circa 1997), Ed O'Brien, and The Edge. Anything that any of these guys have done in their respective careers will sound pretty good on a Casino. Don't limit yourself to just these either, even a stock Casino is a pretty versatile instrument.

bynapkinart 1
Most of Radiohead's "In Rainbows" has at least one Casino or ES330 on it. Paul Weller has also used a Casino extensively throughout his career.

jerrymac 50
OK - thank you for the clarification. Is it a hollow-body? Regards, Yeah, kinda like a Casino with a bolt on neck. Here's some info.
abbeyroadman 2
Yeah, kinda like a Casino with a bolt on neck. Here's some info. Thank you. That information link interesting (at least to me). Seems the professionals don't always need or use the most expensive nor the best gear. Not meaning to hijack this thread - so back to the Casino's. Regards, Funny, someone in this thread posted a video of Dave Davies playing a Casino. Before the Casino and the trademark Flying V, Dave played a Harmony Meteor, not something that would normally be considered a professional quality guitar. That's the guitar he played the magnificent You Really Got Me solo.

That's the guitar he played the magnificent You Really Got Me solo. Re-read your Info. link - and I'm starting to laugh a bit. I still own my first guitar, a Sears Silvertone 1448, Amp-In-Case Model, Black/White. Well, it slightly resembled John's Rickenbacker (from a 6th grader's view), short-scale and all. Unfortunately, it never took me on the upward musical pathway as the others mentioned who used off-brand gear early-on. Thanks again JerryMac for the info., Regards,

jerrymac 50
Dave also used a Guild Starfire pretty extensively. I knew there was another axe in his early arsenal. It was one of the single cutaway models if I remember correctly. I think it was featured on one of their album covers. Now that I think about it, I think he bought the Guild to replace the Harmony after their initial success. He took it to the USA for their first tour, but the airline lost it. Needing a guitar for the tour, he went into a music store in NYC or LA where he found the Flying V. ADDITION: Found it!!! Kinks Kontroversy Looks like a Starfire III

Versatile 465
A Casino/ES330 works really well on Rockabilly and Rock'n Roll...how about some Elvis/Carl Perkins, Stray Cats etc....and not forgetting early-ish BB King or even Chuck Berry. Roll the dice and collect your winnings......
