Hi to all Epiphone detectives. I hope you can help me.   I bought the Epiphone Casino pictured a few years ago. The seller said that he bought it in 1994 in Japan. I still have the receipt from Yama

Reality is you really don't know what came from Japan if your only resources are online. As you stated many colors and configurations have come from Japan including bolt on neck LP copies. I have seen

This is an attempt to get "control" about the first post,   as suggested by Steven Lister and in agreement with Duane

Not finding any info about the factory code on a 2002 Epiphone Les Paul I picked up on Craigslist. Guitar Dater Project says this:

Serial No.: DC02090734

"Your guitar was made at the  China,  on September, 2002 Production Number: 734 "

Weird how it can't tell me which factory, and the QuingDao factory in China didn't open until the following month (October) of 2002, according to an article published by Epiphone.

Other details about the guitar: It had a factory "2nd" stamp above the serial no. and the "GIBSON" truss rod cover. I know that second thing could have been added later. Anything special about this guitar? It feels just like both current production Gibson Traditionals I tried out recently. Really great guitar.

I've never had any definitive answer to where mine is from either.

You are the first person I've come across around here who also has just a "J" in front of numbers.

Mine is an Epi 1997 SG Jr. the # is J97100457. I know it's hard to make out.

I have always wanted to know for sure where it's country of origin was as well.

Anybody know?

I am new here and have the same problem - and almost the same number too: J97100357 (It's a TV yellow SG Junior) - does anyone have new ideas? thanks.

Just registered today.  My son has an Epiphone Elitist Broadway serial number T706304 and all he knows about his guitar is that it is a 2007 Terada Plant production item.  How can he find out more details about his guitar?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much.

Good evening,

I would like to ask for a little help to recognize the following serial number:

Belongs to a Epiphone Les Paul Junior Double cutaway:

1RUDUkn.jpg

I suspect is a Japanese one but i'm not sure because i don't understand why isn't only J and i see an "I" after J.

Year i think is 98, as i see in many pages appears to be information about year by numbers but not from where it is the guitar.

I suspect Japan 98...but that I makes me crazy

May you help me?

Thank you!

The secret decoder ring is not working on my Guitar, Its an ES “Sheraton” here is a pic of thr “check  list for the warranty card “

I thought I would add the information to help the data base grow ,  Its interesting that the date of the “check list”  is 3 months ahead of the serial number...  just adding to the confusion.

The data came from GuitarInsite I don't know where they got it from but good to have it posted again. But their engine correctly identified the SN like you did as being made by Samick in Korea 1994 ... [thumbup]
