Plus there's a little dip switch at the top, it's an OD-GT when the switch is to the right and a ZW-44 when the switch is to the left.

According to a number of online sources they use the same board for both pedals, and this M-66 is just a re-housed GT-OD.

 

Theres a dip switch on the Classic Overdrive? I have one actually, and was AMAZED at it for its price..That and my OCD have been my favorite OD's so far.

Yup. It's on the top of the pcb board tho... you access it from the top. Slide it to the left and you get some more mid's out of it, I guess you lose some gain, but it's got enough to make me happy.

Although I am totally sold on tube amps I will say I have my eye or should I say ear on the ZenDrive or the ZenDrive 2. The 2 has a 12AX7 tube but it's more $$ too.

I have an MXR Classic Overdrive too and it sounds good. I usually set the gain pretty low and just use it as sort of a boost. That's how it sounds best and most "transparent" IMO.

 

I haven't done the "switch mod" because you have to take the whole thing apart to do it. It sounds tempting to try though because I wouldn't miss the gain and I actually thought the pedal could use a little more mids.

The ZenDrive is a great pedal. I haven't tried the 2 yet.
