Hi all!

SO - after my son and I started to play guitar a few months back, (once I realized I could play too) I decided to buy a nice electric (to go with his Squier). I loved the looks/sounds of the Gibson Les Pauls after scoping things out a bit. How nice to then discover my niece works at Alto Music!! I went for a visit ready to buy "something" (Fender Am deluze was on the short list), and spotted just what I wanted hanging there - the Classic in Ebony. Well, eventually A/Bed it, bought it @at great price, took it home and played, and THEN agonized all weekend a bit about the hot ceramic pickups and what I read about them(I am no hard rocker)...SOO much so that yesterday I went back to the store and exchanged it straight up for a Traditional - in Ebony! The guy opened the Gibson box for me - awesome! Bought it *snap* that quick (after making sure it worked and everything was tight).

Story short - LOVE IT! Feels a bit different then the Classic, sounds are very similiar but a bit cleaner (which is what i wanted), with what seems like a bit less sustain, not as much bleed from unplayed strings. The finger board seems a bit "flatter" then the classic, but I got used to it quick. It sounds SO sweet! Made in the USA on May 3rd according to the SN. This one is a keeper!

Cool. Welcome to the forum. The Traditional seems like it's stating to become a real hit for Gibson. The members here will insist that you post some pics though. We never get enough "guitar porn"!

Cheers! Thanks for the welcome!

crossroad,

I saw/tried the Goldtop in my local store - that is the one that sold me on the LP. Thrilled when I found out I could get one at a better price, AND then in Ebony??? - it was a no-brainer as to what I would buy. Enjoy your LPTD too!
