Nemuri 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 So, I just picked up a 1989(?) Metallist II. The neck is a little thicker than I usually like, but DEFINITELY shreddable! Dig that crazy-thin body w/the metal plate! Anyone know off-hand what cases will fit this thing? Can I just pick up a generic strat case? I posted some pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/hhbale/Kramer BTW, what happened to the Kramer forums at http://www.kramerforum.com/? I can't get the page to load. -H

moku 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2010 showsters are good guitars. any stndard form fitted case should fit: roadrunner, gator, etc. fender strat cases are fine too, but the guitar tends to get knocked around in there (unless you get one of those newer ones with the neck gets strapped down). the old kramer forum works fine: http://www.kramerforum.com/forum/index.php that's where i usually hang out. I have a Showster and best case is On Stage Stands Tweed for $40 at Guitar Center, but TKL etc will fit it too. The Showster is the last great Guitar made by the original Kramer Co. Less than a 1000 were made so they are very very rare. My Showster is the best Kramer that I have ever played.

Very Few of them own Showsters and they hate Gibson/Kramers because the Gibson/Kramers are better than most of the 80s Kramers, except for the Showster, of course, and consequently the Gibson/Kramers are driving down the prices of their 80s Kramers. The MusicYo Kramers are nowhere on par with the US and Japan made 80s Kramers. Not sure what you're going about, lots of good things said over there about the MusicYo stuff but they're just decent imports, not pro-level stuff like the original Kramer stuff. Not sure what you're going about, lots of good things said over there about the MusicYo stuff but they're just decent imports, not pro-level stuff like the original Kramer stuff. Oddly enough, there were NEVER any Kramer guitars made in the USA. It's a bit of rare history of Kramer's history. The ones that were though to be made in the USA (Yes, even the aluminum neck ones) were actually made by Godin up in Canada. Mr. Kramer only made 4 "Kramer" guitars and he was gone (with his 4 guitars) he sold one and still owns the other 3. Kramer was ghost built from MANY sources. Of course, most folks are familiar with all of the cheap stuff and that the "American" and USA series of stuff were all made by ESP. But yeah.....their headquarters was in the USA of course, but no Kramers that were sold to the public were EVER built in the U.S.A.
