Man, the Canadians are up to no good again. A truck full of Iggy Pop and his bandmates' equipment was stolen in Montreal. The truck contained Iggy's flying V and a rare Gibson bass guitar. According to the road manager, "That bass would go in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame some day if we could find it. We're all just gutted.

 

Cuda, can you get a flight up to Montreal tonight and track down the bastards who did this?

THIS is why I support Capital Punishment for shoplifting and jaywalking.

 

Even if it had zero deterrent effect, it would ensure there are no repeat offenders...

I posted the news story in alt.guitar but I can't find *any* contact information at iggypop.com or virginrecords.com. You'd think that either site would have at least some sort of general contact email address or web form so I don't know how anyone could let them know if they have any information about the theft.

Inside job for sure. The hells have lots of contacts everywhere in that city, that or the mob.

 

My home town, love it there (moving back i hope soon) =D>.

Vic, I live west of Toronto. I went to Montreal (Old Montreal) Canada Day long weekend 2007.

Beautiful city but let me tell you...never again will I drive out on a long weekend! 9 hours to get there and 9 to get back.

On the way back, there was a fatal accident on the 401 and the entire freeway was shut down...4 hour detour.

After I got around it, the car was floored all the way to TO.

Ive spent alot of time in Old Montreal as well. Im not a religious man but I think everyone should

vist Notre Dame Basillica. Its truly breathtaking.

and yes, the bikers are everywhere.

When i go back home i sometimes leave at 4am Saturday to arrive for breakfast at my house, i have a radar and MINI cooper S that does it at speed (enter very illegal speed here) on one tank.

 

On they way home i just leave really really late, like 7pm to arrive like 1am in TO.

 

I live in the east end near 404/401.

 

Yeah once i had a incodent like that i was sitting at the side or the road just chilling for almost 30 mins....stupid highway.

I'm in south florida, I have all of my teeth and I don't like hockey so I can't relate to you in any way

I have all my own teeth and dont like watching sports of any kind, up to and including Hockey.

Womens beach Volleyball however...hmmmmm? :(

I dont watch sports period.....The thought of whining millionaires who act like children makes me ill.

Id rather watch a fly crawl up a curtain then watch any sporting event.
