Ricky330 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Today on Gumtree in the UK (a site a bit like Graigslist) is the following: "Gibson Les Paul Black with it's original hard case (£425) Date posted: Wednesday 6th August Location: London This beautiful genuine USA gibson Les Paul Studio is all black, but as it is Gold Edition all pick-ups and scratch-plates etc.. are gold (coloured) afraid I've not listed it with the Serial number to avoid cloning etc... but its all there if you want to come and have a look before buying. It has been gigged a bit by me, but is in very good condition, there is a tear and a few scuffs on the case and the usual belt scratches on the back. In addition to this, there are 3 very small dints (see pic) in the front of the main body of the guitar, these were there when I bought the guitar, but until coming to sell it on, I've not thought about or noticed them. Reason for sale, my band's sound has evolved and I now use a Telecaster, I still love the pick-ups on the Gibson, but I can't justify having both, so I sadly have to say goodbye to black-beauty." His reason for sale doesn't seem to be due to evolvement, nore like RETARDATION! I would have let this pass if he was claimimg to prefer the single coil Telecaster sound, but to say his band's sound had EVOLVED???
Gibson CS Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 nothing seems to bad to me evolved ? maybe his band got ther balls cut off hahahahahaha evil laugh
ChanMan Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Yeah... evolved. Some folks start as country bands and evolve into rock bands. Look at where ZZ Top was on Tres Hombres, then on Eliminator... they evolved. Most bands have to in order to stay alive as the music scene fluctuates. Most of them do it by just adding a little something new to their already famous sound... like adding synthesizers or writing material closer to the current, popular genre. Every band I have played in has gone through an evolutionary process as we developed "our sound".... and most evolved from doing covers to doing original material. Some evolved from pretty good bands into crap... one evolved from doing all originals to doing all covers.... so yeah... evolved. He's still nuckin' futs for letting that LP go in favor of a tele... and I got nothing against teles.
NeoConMan Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Hey, if the rest of the guys in the band say you need a different tone, then you have to be able to demonstrate why you shouldn't. Me? I'd quit in a heartbeat. Actually, I have both guitars so I'm covered... I was listening to the ZZ Top Six Pack over the weekend - all their early albums. GOOD stuff. To say they "evolved" on Eliminator & Afterburner is generous. I saw them on the Eliminator tour, I was sick to my stomach from the synths. Absolutely pathetic.
Woko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Seems like a bargain to me and His loss. I would keep both if it were me I payed £400 for my Les Paul Studio (cherry with gold pick ups)and I havent stopped smilling since.
