A very old friend of mine (old as dirt actually) suggested I sign up here.

I sing and play guitar, bass, and percussion, in a few bands here in Cali, as well as in Sweden. No my name is not Inga. I do covers because they pay the bills and originals because I love to.

My rig is not as big as your rig. I freely admit this. But it is nice and tight and can still fry your face at close range.

*** Ibanez Custom S from late 80s. Electronics were utterly gutted and redesigned. No I am not telling. I have an unreasonable fear that if I do, my guitar will kill me.

***Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I had a Gibson but I sold it. Studio, arctic white. I have teeny little hands, and nothing I tried made that guiatr easy to play. I sold it and used the money to buy my amp, and bought the Epi as a back-up guitar.

***1988 Marshall JCM800 1x12 combo, dual channel, Vintage 30.

***Taylor 414CE. My baby. I LOVE her. LOVE. I miss her smell when she is cased. Sometimes I take her out just to sniff her. I kiss her after every gig. I'm sick.

What I REALLY want is an 80's JCM800 single channel 50-watt with the mid-mod, and a closed back 2x12 with Modern Leads. Does that make me a bad person?

So that's me for now. Hope I don't make too big of an *** of myself here, lol. I put a bunch of links in my profile if you are utterly bored and want to explore my...um...stuff.

It astonishes me that there are people who do NOT love beer. I simply do not understand this. I live 5 minutes from where the best beer in the world is brewed, at Stone Brewery. :D

D, I have tried SGs and Explorers. My hands hurt. Sure the necks are not as big as my Taylor, but I don't play acoustic and electric with the same touch/feel... if I did, I'd buy a Tele (prepares for bashing). My Ibanez has that sllllliiiiick Wizard II neck and it fits my hand like... like... um... ok I need to stop surfing guitar pr0n now.

BTW I am the proud owner of a 1981 Rickenbacker 4001 bass... but it hurts my hands too. Boo fricking hoo. Yeah, I am about to buy an Ibanez Mikro unless you fine folks can suggest another short-scale bass with standard size pickups...

EDIT: Stoooopid typo...

Welcome to the coolest forum on the planet! Selling your Gibson for a Marshall amp isn't such a bad idea. Heck it's not like trading a Cadillac in for a microphone (Blues Brothers reference). But being on the forum will give you Gibson GAS pretty quickly, so be prepared!! I love your Taylor.

Thanks for the warm welcome and to my friend who invited me.

I am a beer-swilling over-sexed under-serviced music-obsessed 40-something divorced chick who'd rather buy gear than groceries. I have a better relationship with my guitars than I ever had with a guy. How is that a bad thing? :P

My nod to normalcy is my cats and my car loan.

Welcome.

You'll fit in well here.

The gibson with the neck which would be the best for your hand-size is the Byrdland. It has what is oft-called the 'mandolin-neck'. It's slim, narrow and quite short at 23-and-a-bit inch scale-length.

'Uncle Ted' (Nugent) does well with them!

They are , unfortunately, somewhat expensive....

Welcome to the 'pub'

That's all very well but do they have a retail outlet? [confused]

They are considering opening a brewery in Europe. I think some of their beers can be found in the UK now, but they would not be fresh. Maybe they can ship to you? Totally worth the $. Arrogrant Bastard, Smoked Porter, Pale Ale, IPA, Vertical Epic, and Russian Imperial Stout are my faves.

Plus they have a restaurant there that is world-class fine dining.

I want a gig there, but they don't realy do music. =((

Welcome to the forums Pixel. Cool, another female member. Not enough of them IMO. If you ever want to get rid of that Rickenbacker bass, my son (a bass player) is Gassing for one, but he can't afford one now, so it would definitely be in the future.

Post some pictures of your guitars and the bass. It's a big requirement on the forum. We love our "guitar porn".

Give a Gibby Melody Maker a try, I have one and so does my daughter, (she has those weird little hands) and it's very comfy for her. The newer SG's have a wide fretboard, however the 70's SG have a nice thin fretboard, (almost Epi Casino like).

BTW I listened to your Bon Jovi "Livin on a Prayer" cover, and you sound GREAT!!! Your guitar playing is very tight as well.... truly impressed!!! [thumbup]
