Madness Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Hey, got a SG GT new, but it seems that the strap button (its a straplock, they come fit with the GTs from factory) is misaligned in angle (im not sure if it just got knocked that way or fit in, or if the screw hole is drilled "wrong"). I noticed the tilt after mistakingly bumping into it with my arm (and it perhaps feelt as it changed angle when i hit it which could be the cause but im not sure) here are some pictures. Its the strap button on the bottom of the guitar, on the rim, as youll see. Excuse the bad pictures, couldnt get camera to focus properly, but it has a slight angle so that a part of it sticks out from the body on the lower side (when holding the guitar). Is this normal? A small isue? worth doing anything? Theres a small blue piece of what seems to be some type of textile, but im not sure how it got there. So what do you think about it? Could it be purposefully made that way because of the assymetric body of an sg, or because of the force when the strap pulls it up so that it evens out? (EDIT: i now somehow noticed the tilt was towards the bottom, so i guess that wouldnt be helpful Also, what tool is used to remove the straplock button if i dare see if the hole is drilled straight.

Madness Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Use A Screwdriver to Remove. Did it come this way? If So Call 1-800-4-Gibson For More Help Yes, it came this way, and im in Europe, so dont know if that number will help. Did remove it with a driver and it seems that while the screwhole wasnt straight, the screw seem to have gotten a blow, and the head of the screw was on a tilt. Thanks.
