kubog Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Hello guys, yesterday I came for this baby. It rocks so hard oh my [-X . Awesome instrument, I just put the pickguard off and installed speedknobs which I like much better. Special limited run for Yamano music, and only my baby came with two tone fretboard :D/ http://s326.photobucket.com/albums/k402/kubog/Gibson%20Les%20Paul%201957%20Goldtop%20Reissue%202004/Home/
Riffster Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 That is a good looking guitar, congratulations. I was wondering just a couple of days how a goldtop would look without a guard. Pretty cool..
epinder Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Congrats, nice Looking I've got the twin to your guitar and this gives me a chance to show her off: I too like the guitar without the pick guard.
Tim Plains Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Sweet! The back of the headstock is black, isn't it...it's not just the angle? Looks like a Stinger! http://www.stingerguitars.com/
Silverbursted Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Congrats' date=' nice Looking I've got the twin to your guitar and this gives me a chance to show her off: [img']http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg218/maccraw/57LP_01.jpg[/img] I too like the guitar without the pick guard. More like its a mirror to mine (with pick guard installed). Congratulations Kubog, they are SOOOOO beautiful. =D>
kubog Posted August 9, 2008 Author Posted August 9, 2008 Thank you everyone. Tim, it has stinger on the headstock altough it aint the stinger with brasilian fretboard. These stingers were just a part of a special run for yamano music (3 pieces as I´ve heard) so it´s pretty rare aswell.
NeoConMan Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Very, very nice. I took the pickguard off my Goldtop and found a ding in the paint underneath. ARGH!!! Put it back on... Happened during assembly I guess, my dealer never takes them off.
littlekenny Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Nice! Looks a lot like joe bonamassa's (spelling?) Les Paul
surfpup Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I took the pickguard off my Goldtop and found a ding in the paint underneath. ARGH!!! Located exactly where the nut and bolt mounts the pick guard to the bracket, perhaps? Once they are on you are usually screwed, unless you don't mind that little ding the pick guard bolt creates. There should be a better system! BTY if you are putting a pick guard on fresh, you might try padding the bolt where it can meet the guitar's surface once pressure (from the case perhaps) presses down on the pick guard. I wrap the bolt end with a small piece of moleskin (the stuff you put in hiking boots when you have blisters). It's adhesive and thin enough to fit nicely.
