ckledzepplin Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 ok today i went to GC and they only had 3 gibson les pauls in stock WTF? the one i wanted to play (an R8) was in this little room with these little kids trying to play deathmetal (deathmetal=crap)IMO. so i saw a marshall jubilee 2555 and a 2550 and niether of them worked WTF. the only reason i went in there was to buy a speaker cable but the 3ft cable i needed was 20 buck wtf at my local shop the 50 ft cable is 20$. sorry i needed to vent
Silverbursted Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Oh look, another satisfied customer. Don't you love it, we all know better, and yet we keep doing it to ourselves. ](*,)
tonebias Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 My GC has about 20-30 Les Pauls, the best are locked up in a room where I've never seen any punk kids without their parents (the punk kids usually play the cheap Japanese and Chinese guitars). I like my Guitar Center! Though I'd NEVER buy a cable from any store? Sounds like a DIY project. Heck, an amp is a DIY project with the quality of amps these days. For me GC is good for looking, I do buy guitars from them but that's about it. Everything else I either build or buy online... deathmetal=crap - Amen! - It's just so lame! Who invented the stuff? Maybe someone who was so blasted on crank that their hands were shaking and someone got an idea to put a pick between their fingers...
NeoConMan Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 GC = WTF? :-) Is "horribleness" even a real word? Never mind, the sentiment is sufficiently communicated. :-) CK, What other guitar shops are there in your area? Denver must have a few.... Who is your Gibson dealer besides GC? Dude, you gotta get out more!
Gibson CS Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 - Amen! - It's just so lame! Who invented the stuff? Maybe someone who was so blasted on crank that their hands were shaking and someone got an idea to put a pick between their fingers... +1

Dude, you gotta get out more! [/quote'] to tell you the complete honest truth there are NONE except GC i have a local shop that i like but they only carry fender guitars, and they dont have marshalls the reason i went to GC was because my local shop was out of a 3ft speaker cable

Only four are independent, but I suggest you reconnoiter them all and try to build a rapport with the manager at each one that keeps any Gibsons in stock. Pueblo and CO Springs are not that far south of you, eh? I see a road trip coming on... You're welcome! :-)
NeoConMan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Failing all that, you could always come to Phoenix and buy at Bizarre. We could give you a bunk at the Compound, the wife is quite the cook. Maybe go shooting in the desert while you're here. Just a thought. Call first.... :-)

Thundergod Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 pukeness? pukenesness? ok... horribleness will do ... GC sucks, every time I go there to look for an amp they have it but it wont work (has happened at least 10 times ...) And Death-metal is crap. Actually everything "heavier" than normal metal should be put in a different genre (along with hardcore, nu-metal and all that stuff): Crap-metal, or Crap-core... maybe Nu-crap.

NeoConMan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 those shops are really far from me so they are out of the question What? Hell, I'm 50 miles from Bizarre Guitar but I'm in there almost every week! Jeez... Oh, don't worry about bringing your twelve gauge. I got plenty of stuff here, mostly rifles. Only half a dozen handguns - and three of them are my wife's.

NeoConMan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 15 so i cant drive myself and i dont got money for gas. Dude' date=' I feel your pain. All I had was an acoustic, and my folks b!tched because it cost $100 in 1980. I had a car and a job, but everything I made went into gas, girls and beer. The electric guitars I wanted were like $500, might as well have been 5 million. Then I got out of high school, living on my own and paying rent, couldn't afford it. Then I got married.... I managed to get a couple cheapie used electrics and a sh!t box solid state amp but they just didn't cut it. I got my first new electric when I was 28 - and getting divorced! your wife must be awesom Indeed she is. The nicest, sweetest Kindergarten teacher/church choir singer you ever met. Always pleasant, quick with a smile. Just don't piss her off. I'd love to see some ***-hole try to rob her or break in when I'm not home. It would be newsworthy.
littlekenny Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I'd love to see some ***-hole try to rob her or break in when I'm not home. It would be newsworthy. I can see the headlines already, "Attempted robber gets Plek'd by angry NeoConWoman!"
Thundergod Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 sorry for the DP' date=' actually i thought you'd like the crap by looking at your avatar[/quote'] No man... not at all... I like more light stuff... like Iron Maiden and Judas priest... Hey, (heavy wise) everything post 80s is sh¡t IMO.

ChanMan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Shame on every one of you for dissing Deathmetal. Shame, shame, shame! Deathmetal is absolute proof that each and everyone of us can be stars in the music business, regardless of skill or talent... And what kind of forum doesn't have a laughing smiley?????
Gibson CS Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 ....... I actually like some Slipknot songs....... Does that count as deathmetal?
ckledzepplin Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 ....... I actually like some Slipknot songs.......Does that count as deathmetal? ohhh you should not have said that! (slipknot sucks even worse than normal death metal)
tulsaslim Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 When I read your post I had to check your profile to see if you were from Tulsa. Sounds like our GC here. Somehow they just don't understand that we're not jumping through hoops to buy an LP for the same price we can get it for at MF, 123, or Sweetwater without paying sales tax. I guess they figure that those 'thousand greasy hands' that have previously played them just work to 'break it in'. A lot of you guys have mentioned that you'd never buy a guitar you couldn't play first. But I think if you played any guitars at GC you'd NEVER buy them. Setup, anyone?
RichCI Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 You guys who hate Guitar Center... Why do you continue to shop there when you just end up getting pissed off? If there are no other shops in your area, okay I can understand that but, unless you're buying a guitar or an amp or something else that you really want to demo before buying, just shop online - you'll save yourself time, gas and a lot of hassle. ok today i went to GC and they only had 3 gibson les pauls in stock WTF? the one i wanted to play (an R8) was in this little room with these little kids trying to play deathmetal (deathmetal=crap)IMO. so i saw a marshall jubilee 2555 and a 2550 and niether of them worked WTF. the only reason i went in there was to buy a speaker cable but the 3ft cable i needed was 20 buck wtf at my local shop the 50 ft cable is 20$ You went there to buy a 3 ft cable that you could have easily bought that online. Okay, you wanted to check out some guitars and amps too but, if you're not there to buy, you're putting your paws all over a guitar that somebody else might want to buy in the future. I'm not saying you wouldn't be careful with it or would bang it up, but it goes against your whole rant about the other guys playing deat metal; maybe those guys can't stand Led Zeppelin.
ckledzepplin Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 i hate online orders, and i was only lookin at stuff because i was waiting for my dad to pick me up and i could care less if they didn't like zep it is their loss
