Sancho Panza
Hello! I have been trying to figure out for awhile now what kind of guitar the rhythm guitarist is playing, but i can't seem the find any answer. It seems to me like he's playing on a 345 becuase of the vari-tone, but i see no F-holes, and then i thought that it might be the Lucille, but that one didn't come out like in the 80's? At around 0:48 - 0:52 you get the best view of the guitar. I HAVE to know, so i really hope that someone can identify the guitar. MrNylon
It looks like a Gretsch. They were very popular and used a lot back then.
MrNylon
It doesn't have a Bigsby tail piece like most Gretsch had. One of the guitar players used a Vox.
L5Larry
It looked to be a standard issue Gibson ES-345 to me, from the split-parallelograms and varitone. I DID see f-holes (at least I think I did), you have to look very close in that 0:48 - 0:52 mark. I caught a shade variance for both the top and bottom f-holes. Toward the end of that closeup you can see a "shadow" running under the pickguard.
Sancho Panza
Thanks for the answers. Like you said it's hard to see, but i think that it is an 345 due to the varitone.
Sancho Panza
I saw another video featuring the same guitar, but now i colour and I noticed something on it, it seems like it has like a gold plate on it:

Like you said it's hard to see, but i think that it is an 345 due to the varitone. 355s also have Varitones but block inlays and a big diamond on the headstock.
