... and STD does NOT mean Standard.

Let's play a little game.

I'll list 4 items. You guys tell me which of these does not belong, and why?

1. Herpes

2. Gibson Melody Maker for sale, new in the box.

3. AIDS

4. Gonorrhea

You old guys may know this one.

Um, #2? It's the only thing you can't just give to another person? ;)

BTW, how much do you want for the MM, and do you have any pictures?

#4. Can't get rid of the rest?

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Yes!

Thanks to the miracle of antibiotics, relief from gonorrhea is but a few white pills away!

Herpes is forever.

No cure for AIDS.

I can't get rid of that Melody Maker to save my life!

I've spent $50 on Ebay listings, I will STILL have to eat the shipping if somebody HERE buys it.

I'll be lucky if I get half my money back when it does sell.

Guys, it doesn't pay to buy inexpensive guitars new.

Thanks to you guys for making my day. I feel exactly the same way about MMs but have been reticent about it because I don't want to cause any more pain to the poor folks who have taken the plunge & bought one.

For $50 less you can get an Epi LP Studio which, compared to the MM, is a jewel.

EDIT: Yes, the white pills will get rid of it. I can say that from personal experience (more than once, unfortunately). Just one of the pratfalls of Life on the Road in a Rock N Roll Band.

So many haters.

Strange b/c I've owned my MM for 4 months and I get offers for it all the time. Maybe b/c I know how to make it sound good. I've probably sold more of them than a GC salesman. Oh well somepeople have to spend $4k to sound good. [-(

PM sent.

Lubbock Texas' date=' eh?

God's country.

Got family all over that state.

I worked with a guy from New Deal.[/quote']

So, does that mean you still have it, want to sell it, and might by in the South Plains sometime soon? Just asking.

You probably had fist-fulls of hundred dollar bills waved in front of you, eh?

Just to confirm how tough it is to resell an inexpensive guitar, I'll bet you a dollar it doesn't happen again.

If it DOES, let me know....

Here's something else to consider;

You're playing a gig with a cheapo low buck guitar and your immense talent stirs their benevolent side.

If you can play worth a damn, they probably want you to get a real guitar so you don't look like a vagrant... :-)

Turnabout is fair play....
