Airport body scans anybody?

Move it to the borders of the country like ANY OTHER sensible government has done thru the ages.

Secure the coasts, the 49th parallel, the New England borders, the Rio Grande, and 700 miles of desert we've surrendered.

Draw the line there, and stand on it.

If someone still wants to die trying to cross it, accommodate them.

Nothing short of that will ever work, dozens of centuries of world history has proven it again and again.

My name is NeoConMan, and I approve this message.

That wouldn't work with domestic terrorists who don't have to cross borders.

Oh, and speaking of no news on the "news" - anybody have friends or family in the military?

Any of them in South Korea along the other 30,000 American troops?

I posted a thread this morning about the artillery shelling (first in nearly 60 years) but it vanished.

I guess blowing up soldiers is a "political" thing - taboo.

Even with Americans in the crosshairs.

God bless 'em and watch over 'em.

Once the borders are controlled, domestic terrorists would lose almost all their latitude to move around.

They would be easy enough to root out.

For every Tim McVeigh, there would be many, many more dirtbags flushed out.

And just how many "domestic terrorists" do you think there are in the USA?

The rest would give it up, and maybe actually go to school to learn a trade instead of gaming the system.

Heck, they might even get a job and assimilate into society.

If they are foreign-born, it might all be just too much trouble and easier targets abroad might be eyed.

Never gonna stop it completely, all I want to do is actively discourage it.

Of course, if everybody is fine with allowing terrorists the "freedom" to come and go as they please....

I dunno.

Take the recent census.

How many sheeple are there in the USA?

You don't need ANY if all we are is sheep.

No need to even cause a problem.

Just scare everybody into thinking there might be one if they don't surrender and run into the holding pens voluntarily.

Saw this today, an opportunity for levity on a serious subject:

Important announcement: Official TSA bumper stickers have been released

  • Can't see London, Can't see France, unless we see your underpants
  • Grope discounts available
  • If we did our job any better, we'd have to buy you dinner first
  • Only we know if Lady Gaga really is
  • Don't worry, my hands are still warm from the last guy
  • We are now free to move about your pants
  • It's not a grope, it's a freedom pat
  • TSA Touchin squeezin arrestin'
  • We handle more packages than UPS

if it saves one life its worth it because that life could be any person.

I don't think Ive ever disagreed more with anything I've read here. Since when in America has security become more important than freedom and our rights? I wonder what our country's forefathers would have thought about this statement. I guess if they felt this way it wouldn't have mattered because we would all be sitting around complaining about the tax on tea in our english accents.

The comment that any disruption in our lives or removing any of our freedoms to protect us from the bad guys proves only one thing. The bad guys won!

Jocko-

Damn.... my brother was stationed in Korea and tells me it sucks at the best of times... prayers and best wishes for your son.

Now....

You DO realize that the ariplane destroyed over Lockerbee had the bomb in the cargo hold, right? And that they could have stripped every passenger naked, X-rayed them 1000 times and done full body cavity searches and they would ALL still be dead. Because it sounds a lot like you're saying back-scatter X rays and passenger groping would have prevented it.

It wouldn't have... the bomb wasn't on a passenger.

You know that right?

You also know that what is being done now is just Security Theater, right? They aren't stopping bombs... and BOMBS are what blows up airplanes.

Again... and I'm trying to be as blunt as I can here.... no one is saying there should be LESS security.... we want REAL security.

G-Man.

Did you see this one the first time around?

I guess the thing that pisses me off the most is we now have a government SO CONCERNED with our safety....

Yet they are utterly failing in every other respect.

Not gonna go on a "political" tangent here, but we have by far the largest gov't in history.

And they've screwed up EVERYTHING they've touched in the last six years.

(Yes, that would include players on BOTH teams, and the vast majority of 'em.)

Politicians will try to make hay with it in the next Congress.

Solutions of any kind are WAY down the road.

Who is the gov't after?

Who are they willing to help?

Who matters most in our society?

(Bleeding heart types will NOT like my opinion on that one.)

What is their primary responsiblity?

Failing that, why are we allowing them to control a f---ing thing in our lives or economy?

Don't lose sight of reality my friend, and don't let the smoke screen fool ya.

90% of those idiots should be out of a job - a number in the millions...

I see you have some serious issues, Jocko. Get some therapy and work them out. Please, man. Carrying around that kind of vitriol is not going to do you any good, and in the long run, may end up doing you lots of harm.

We are 100% agreed on your veteran view points, even if they have no place in this thread. My Dad is a disabled Vet, my brother is a Vet.... and if not for my asthma and honesty, I would be, too. I think I've made it pretty clear how I feel about the respect we owe those folks who "... at some point in their lives wrote a blank check to the US for up to and including their lives" much better than we are currently giving them.

I'll pray you find a peace.

Same here Chan.

Well, that and an impressive list of tickets with two DL suspensions by 19.

Tried two different induction centers in two states - I was this close.

Group W bench...

Guitarist I dont get your post at all what does homeless veterans being worse off that people in jail (many of which were probably veterens also. Have to do with airport security and the eroding of our rights like the 4th amendment in the name of false security. Many of the homeless veterans are homeless because of the choices they made in their lives. Having served in the military should prepare someone to live a valid life and not need to have government help just like all Americans. I don't believe in a special veteran welfare if that's what your proposing here.
