BigKahune
. Fats Domino - Sometimes his contributions to R&B are in the shadows. His list of R&B high charting songs is amazing - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qz94yveXgQ Fats here in the red jacket - check out the performers - R&B heaven my friends - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsGI7F4zmyg
Daryl M
There are several I like, but Bruce Hornsby is a real favorite.

charlie brown
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTwrqKPogiI&feature=related My Aunt, once dragged me to a Victor Borge concert, before I really knew who he was...and by the time it was over, I was a convert! I've seldom laughed so hard, in my life, too. He was very impressive, musically, and comedic, too. CB

heymisterk
I think Elton John's personal life and persona takes a back seat to his piano playing and songwriting. That guy (don't know if Bernie Taupin wrote just the lyrics or had a hand in other aspects of the songs as well) wrote some amazing melodies. I never, ever tire of hearing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7wwZVB4yMI
Riverside
There may be better all around players, but I do like me some Billy Preston. If I had to pick one who's with us today, I'll take Chester Thompson, currently with Santana, formerly of Tower of Power. Look him up on Keyboardmag.tv - http://www.keyboardmag.com/article/chester-thompson-b-3/February-2010/108391 - oh my goodness, what a talented guy. I recommend taking the time to watch all 8 or 9 vids there. ToP was so predictable, but, well, you know. I also really really like Mike Finnegan, too. cookieman15061
Props on Billy Joel, cookieman... Here's an awesome piano man instrumental http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D7CGsx_XCI Yeah back then he was just incredible but his motorcycle accident in the early 80's tore up his hands pretty good. He had to have a pin placed in his thumb as I recall. I've seen him live at least 10 times. In his younger days he put on one heck of a show. cookieman15061
Here's a vid from 82 after the crash and you can see he has some fingers and the thumb on his left hand taped up and he shakes it like it's really bothering him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxBjKa8KcW0
rocketman
I'm glad Gershwin was mentioned. I studied every note of Rhapsody in Blue. At one point I had the whole thing memorized. I played prelude N.3 Allegro Ben Ritmato E Deciso for my music auditions into college. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJVFep9fepE
