Andy R
That's awesome. I was just talking to my dad tonight and I was talking about how metal pretty much started with Black Sabbath and their use of the "Devils Triad" I love Sabbath!
cabba2203
That's pretty cool. There's some music on there I haven't listened to in years.
retrosurfer1959
That is cool lots of metal Genres I never even heard of which isn't a big surprise. about as close as I get to modern metal is Lacuna Coil and In the Moment which probably aren't even metal to most people but my IPOD calls them metal
pippy
Very interesting map, Dem00n. Before opening it I thought it was going to turn out to be a bit silly but it actually seems to be very well thought out indeed. Like retrosurfer mentions there are styles I'd never ever heard of (Blackened Death Metal for one!). Thanks very much for posting. I just know I'll come back for a perusal many more times... P. Shnate McDuanus
That's some great stuff dem00n. Very well put-together site--I definitely didn't expect it to include listenable playlists for the listed genres, but it was a good surprise! I'll be spending a lot of time on that site (maybe revisiting the brief, embarrassing nu-metal phase from my childhood... ) Awesome!
ShredAstaire
Thats the best map I have seen....i also like that it has samples... Any way to zoom out to see the whole thing at once or do you only have that window you can move?
MojoRedFoot
The fact that some bands appear in mutliple categories is what confuses me the most and why I never pay much attention to the genres. This did confirm however how much I love Viking, Celtic and Medieval metal. I saw a reference to folk metal but did not see it on the map :( Where do Mastodon, Gojira and Baroness fit?
