cudamax2343 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I have never seen 80 people on this site on a Sunday morning, Pretty kool, Ha. Anyways does anybody know why some les pauls just don't sound right and others just sound perfectly in tune after you set intonation. What on a guitar makes intonation just right that some don't get on every guitar. Does it have to do with the lenght of the neck with the fret placement with-in it's scale lenght that will if off by just a little make or break the sound of all freted notes. As you guy's already know I have close to 50 guitars and some of them when I set intoneation they sound perfect and other just don't.
tonebias Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 could be that the nut is filed wrong or worn out where the contact points are inconsistent from string to string...
RichCI Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I don't know all the technical gobbledy-gook behind it, but Les Pauls are particularly bad when it comes to intonation - something with the G string. After you tune up and depending on how you tune up, the G string can sound out of tune when playing up high at the neck octave.
ckledzepplin Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 the only thing that's horrible with les pauls is the nut is cut horribly thats the problem with the G- string ng
