I'm a little curious about these pedals. Sounds like a cool tone machine, but wonder if any of you guys own one.

From what I've heard so far, I'm pretty darn impressed.

I just bought one. Using it with my LP through a Valve Junior. I love it!!!! Great tone--not too artificial.

My biggest problem is that I can't really crank my vj beyond bedroom levels. When I do crank it, I get a really muddy distortion.

The OCD works perfectly. I was a little worried that it would suck the tone. But I think it has really enhanced the tone and added more sustain. I was a little worried the VJ didn't have enough clean headroom. So I switched out the preamp tube to one with lower gain. Worked great.

They are a little pricey (I got mine of Craigslist for $120). It is a version 4, which is the newest model.

It was the best investment I've made in a pedal.

I bought an OCD about a month ago, and I am very happy with it. It sounds good through tube amps (can't help you with how it might sound with solid state). How good does it sound through tube amps? Put it this way, I have owned an original BK Butler Tube Driver for about 15 years now, and this is the only overdrive/distortion/fuzz/whatever that has ever come close in sound - and it comes real close! I think I'd like it to have just a little more bottom end boost - but beyond that it is really great sounding with humbuckers or single coils - natural, warm, and tube like. I doubt you'd be disappointed with it.

Mine was $130 off eBay with an added 18 volt adapter. The unit will run on any voltage between 9 and 18v. The 18v supposedly makes it sound tighter (like the difference between a 50 watt Marshall and a 100watt Marshall according to Fulltone) but I didn't like the sound any better at 18 volts, so I am running it on my pedal board at 9 v.

I own one and it the best damn pedal on my board. Well worth the price. I have had original EH, Boss distortion, Tube Screamer and a handfull of boutique distortion pedals, this one blows them all away. Cranked up it sounds like your standing in front of a old school marshal full stack with everything turned up to max. Real thick sound alot of depth.

I had the BK Butler(Tubeworks) Real Tube II preamp back in the 90's. I drove it through an old SS Fender amp to give it some balls. I wish I still had that bad boy.

Anyway, I've been an exclusive Boss DS-1 guy for years, but wouldn't mind a little different flavor. My Mesa F-50 is a monster crunch machine, so I rarely use any dirt boxes for that. However I also have a Mesa Rocket .44, and it LOVES any kind of pedal, especially my DS-1. So I just might have to check that OCD out. Thanks for the heads up guys.
