vmaster38 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Hello Admin, Do you happen to know how many John Sykes Les Paul Custom VOS guitars were produced in the 2006 run?? I've been able to find the "aged" models, but I can't find the VOS model ANYWHERE!! And I guess if you know the number of the "aged" Sykes guitars produced that year, that would be helpful for comparison. If ANY readers of this post knows where I can get a VOS or wants to sell me their own, please let me know asap. Thanks! Quote
Custom Admin Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 i think it was right around 100 VOS Sykes... Quote
vmaster38 Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Hmmm......No wonder it's so tough to find one. I've never seen one for sale on ebay or anywhere else besides Musiciansfriend.com when they first came out. People must be really satisfied!! Unfortunately, at that time I didn't have the $$ for it. Jeez, I had no idea Sykes was so popular!! ANY chance of Gibson producing another run? The demand is certainly there. I really appreciate your response. Quote
Custom Admin Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 no plans for more of these that i am aware of... Quote
Red&Die Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 There is a Gibson John Sykes Les Paul VOS on e-bay right now, which is the early first run edition, very rare! Quote
vmaster38 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Thank you, Red&Die!! I really appreciate the heads up. Quote
WOLF CHILD Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Why are there John Sykes '68's and '78's? Quote
Custom Admin Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 the one we did was a replica of a '78 LP: http://www.gibsoncustom.com/inspiredby/JohnSykesCustom.html Quote
vmaster38 Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 I just wanted to add that it appears there were 100 VOS "Aged" John Sykes models built & 100 VOS Non-aged. I say this because I just bought "JS 173" which is a VOS Non-aged model. Seems logical, right? Quote
Custom Admin Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 i will have to check on monday, but i think we started the VOS ones at JS 100, and continued on up. i don't believe we actually did 100 aged ones...i will confirm on monday. Quote
HeadCase Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 While we're on the "Inspired By" subject, any info on the Bonamassa quantities? Quote
Custom Admin Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 all "inspired by" guitars have a limit of 300. Quote
HeadCase Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I'm sorry, I should have been more specific... I was actually wondering how many Bonamassas have been produced so far. Thanks so much for the info! Quote
Custom Admin Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I just wanted to add that it appears there were 100 VOS "Aged" John Sykes models built & 100 VOS Non-aged. I say this because I just bought "JS 173" which is a VOS Non-aged model. Seems logical' date=' right?[/quote'] we did 66 aged Sykes, and the just over 100 VOS. Quote
vmaster38 Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 So, is it safe to say that: Serial #'s JS 1 - 66 = Aged Serial #'s JS 67 - 200 = VOS? Or did the VOS's start @ serial # JS 100?? It would seem odd to me if the numbers stopped at "just over" 200. Just curious, if you happen to know.... Quote
Custom Admin Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 the VOS started at 101...we stopped at 66 on the aged. Quote
vmaster38 Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Interesting... Thank you for the research! Quote
