ElectricLeftyLand
In my math class we were assigned a project recently. We had to pick a question and perform a survey. My question to you - What Gauge of Guitar Strings do you prefer? Give the gauge of the high E string. NOTE: brand of strings doesn't matter, nor does the guitar which they are on. If you have two gauges that you're just split down the middle about and you couldn't decide for money, women, or the threat of death, then it's fine to give me both. I'm looking for over 30 people's preferences. Your help is greatly appreciated!

You also might want to consider using the Poll utility for this post so it will make it easier. question could be what gauge of strings do you most often use on an electric guitar answers .008 .009 .010 .011 .012 .013 Varies By guitar Maybe A second question would be the same but for Acoustic guitars Just a thought

wendyw
I usually get a set with .009 and a single .010 (though I can't always pick up singles) which I add instead of the .009 which I keep as a spare. Yes, I'm odd.

FirstMeasure
10's for all but my Eb Guitar which gets 11's. Still haven't zeroed in on a gauge for my Jazz Box yet. so I'd have to say 10's for your survey purpose.

milod
9s on everything electric OR acoustic/electric except 8 on one electric that's worn that gauge for around 35 years. I think even my 12 wears 9s. Can't remember 'cuz I was experimenting about a year ago and then things got intense at work and just regular pickin' in the shorter available guitar time took precedence. BTW, I shoulda shown my occasionally warped sense of humor and noted the gauge on a nylon string guitar... <grin> But naaah. m
