marble_deluxe Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Ouch!!! Broken headstock repair??? fraid so, it was done before i got the guitar. i thought it might affect how well the guitar stays in tune, but it doesn't. you wouldn't even be able to tell it happened by playing it. whoever my uncle had repair it did a damn good job.
tonebias Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 fraid so' date=' it was done before i got the guitar. i thought it might affect how well the guitar stays in tune, but it doesn't. you wouldn't even be able to tell it happened by playing it. whoever my uncle had repair it did a damn good job.[/quote'] I wouldn't even worry about it unless you are going to sell it. It really won't make much difference in tone, the glues these days are so much stronger than the wood and it's such a small area that the glue occupies it's not even worth a mention. It's just if you ever go to sell it the buyers will not like it, so dont ever sell it! Man, If I ever come across a cheap broken Gibson guitar, I would buy it so fast it would make heads spin! Nice looking guitar!!!!
Tim Plains Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 There you go...much better. =D> Those other pictures hurt my eyes. I'm just curious about the minihums...are they all like that? I've never noticed the support bracket (I guess) around the pickup. What that guitar originally fitted with full sized humbuckers?
HeadCase Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 you wouldn't even be able to tell it happened by playing it. Cool, looks like a clean enough repair. I was wondering about those pickups also. Can't say I remember seeing those before. Are they original?
retrosurfer1959 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 +3 on the pickups what are they? I've seen pics of guitars in rack's, I've seen pics of guitars in their case's I've even seen guitars on wall hooks, lying on beds and even couches, chairs, stairs, outdoors and the floors and yes even on the unmade bed. However that last photo is the first pic Ive seen of a guitar in the young males version of dirty clothes pile and used plate storage. I'm guessing your single or at least the wife wasn't home??? Just givin you a hard time nice pics.
marble_deluxe Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 well thanks for all the replies guys. i know you are all wondering about those pickups. they are stock minihumbuckers that came like that out of the factory. everything on the guitar is stock. whenever i first got the guitar i looked everywhere to learn more about them, in fact thats why i joined this forum. oh and retrosurfer, what you see is the room of a 16 year old. the guitar was on the bed, when i took the pic i didn't realize the background. and those clothes are clean!!!
marble_deluxe Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 There you go...much better. O:) Those other pictures hurt my eyes. I'm just curious about the minihums...are they all like that? I've never noticed the support bracket (I guess) around the pickup. What that guitar originally fitted with full sized humbuckers? the minihumbuckers are stock, that plastic piece going around them is only for cosmetic purposes. they come off easily enough, but i like the way they look.
GoldenBigsbyCustom Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Oh my God you should have said XXX rated on the topic line that guitar is a beauty!!!!!!!!;)
