kaicho8888 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Back in the days, I've used a high E pipe tuner(?). Tune the high E and then the rest of the strings. Then, I got a cheapie chromatic tuner that I carried in my case. I just bought a $24 dollar clip on Planet Wave tuner. I must say it's convenient to tune on stage even when your ears are ringing and it's noisy (LOL). The LCD dial is easy to read and turns "red" to "green" when in tune. Like most of us, we memorized the notes in our heads/ears and know if the guitar is in tune. However, this clip on tuner is convenient on stage should your ears get numb with the cymbals and bass in a noisy environment.
Kenny V Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I just bought one a couple of weeks ago. The tuner works great. Kenny V
Bob R Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Just got an Apex AT8 for Christmas. I've a number of other tuners including a TU3. The clip-on is very handy if you don't feel like plugging the guit in, and just feel like doing some acoustic noodling.
CajunBlues Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I have 3 Snarks... They are awesome... especially during rehersal and live performances... They are the only tuners I use now.
craigh Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I've got the Intellitouch PT10. Great tuner. Craig
Searcy Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I have one of those little clip on tuners from Sabine. Works great even on solid bodies!
JazzGtr Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I like the TC Electronic Poly Tune. It's the only true bypass tuner that tells you whether all of your strings are tune just by strumming all six at once. Silent, fast and accurate. Jazz
bolide Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Tuning fork guy here, got one of the Peterson clamp ons and it is terrific.
